Insulin balls

What are inslin balls ?

Insulin balls are a term used to describe a phenomenon that occurs when insulin forms clumps or aggregates at the injection site instead of being absorbed into the bloodstream properly. This can happen when insulin is injected repeatedly in the same area or when using certain types of insulin or injection techniques.

It has been noticed that subcutaneous injection to the insulin ball can cause poor blood glucose control.

Insulin balls can affect the absorption and effectiveness of insulin, leading to unpredictable blood sugar levels. To avoid this issue, it is recommended to rotate injection sites regularly, use proper injection techniques, and consult with a healthcare provider if you experience consistent issues with insulin absorption.
